Marriage Mentoring is a couple to couple relationship where an experienced married couple comes along side a younger couple to encourage and support them through the early stages of marriage. The mentoring couple assists the young couple as they go through their premarital experience and then follows up with them for the first two years of marriage, through once per quarter meetings. (1x quarter= 4x per year= 8 meetings). These meetings can be over coffee, dinner or dessert and are designed to help young married couples navigate through the first two years of marriage. Research shows that 40% of all couples who divorce do so within the first few years of the marriage. The goal of the Marriage Mentor program is to change this statistic by providing tools and resources that create a solid foundation for a lasting and thriving married life.
Marriage Mentors are married couples who have been married for at least 3 years, have been attending SCG for 6 months or longer, has experience volunteering or serving in a ministry and who completes the mentor application, interviews with leader team, completes the 4 week Marriage Mentor training program, and understands their role as the following…
Friendship…not teaching or Preaching
The Marriage Mentor program is actively accepting applications. Mentor training is no cost to the mentor couple. All materials will be provided. Training runs for 4 consecutive weeks, meeting one evening per week for 2 hours each session. For questions or for more information, email email@example.com
