Across The Street

One day Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment is. He responded by boiling the entire bible down into two commandments:

And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22:37-40)

Across The Street is our attempt to take those commandments literally. The mission statement is to be a light in the community and create tangible examples of what it looks like to love our neighbors. So in the weeks leading up to the work day, we spend several hours out in the surrounding community meeting our neighbors and seeing if they have any needs that we can help them with. We then, rally the church together and spend a Saturday morning mowing lawns, pulling weeds, washing windows, cleaning cars, and doing whatever else they need us to do.

Our next Across The Street Workday is March 11th from 9am-noon. We would love to have you join us, so bring the whole family out and let's go LOVE OUR NEIGHBORS.
